STEWED CHICKEN WITH DUMPLINGS 
3 lbs. ready to cook chicken
8 c. water
1 tbsp. salt
Dash pepper
2 carrots, cut in 1 inch pieces
1 tbsp. chopped parsley
1 stalk celery, cut in 1 inch pieces
1 med. onion, sliced
1 pkg. dumpling egg noodles
Flour
Cold water

In large pot, place chicken, water, salt, pepper, carrots, parsley, celery and onion. Cover; simmer until chicken is tender about 2 1/2 hours. Remove chicken. Bring broth to boil; add noodles and cook 20 minutes.

Mix flour and cold water to make a smooth paste; slowly add to broth. Cook a few minutes, stirring constantly, until broth thickens a little. Add chicken (meat may be removed from bones, if desired). Heat a few minutes. Makes 5-6 servings.
