GERMAN COFFEE CAKE 
4 c. sifted flour
6 tsp. baking powder
8 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter, softened
2 eggs
2/3 c. milk
1 to 1 1/4 tsp. vanilla
6-8 med. apples
Cinnamon
Sugar

Blend together the sifted flour, baking powder, sugar, salt and butter until grainy. Mix together the egg, milk and vanilla and add to the flour. Mix and knead dough.

Roll out lightly. Place on greased cookie sheet and push or roll into a rectangle to fit most of cookie sheet. Arrange peeled, sliced apples on top. Sprinkle generously with cinnamon-sugar. Dot with additional butter. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.
