1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 lg. egg
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
2 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream together butter and sugar. Blend in egg. Sift together salt, baking powder and flour. Blend in vanilla. Add to creamed mixture. Refrigerate until thoroughly chilled. Work with a small quantity. Roll on floured pastry sheet to a 1/8 inch thickness. Cut with lightly floured cookie cutters. Bake on lightly greased cookie sheet at 400 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.
