CHEESE SALAD 
1 pkg. lemon Jello
1 c. hot water
1 can crushed pineapple
3/4 c. walnuts
2 pkg. Philadelphia cream cheese
1/2 c. celery
1/2 pt. whipped cream
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix Jello with hot water and pineapple juice left from can. Chill until it sets and then whip and add ingredients. Cut cheese in small pieces and fold in whip cream. Serve with nut bread.

I had never heard of the Longshore Ladies' Auxiliary until one day I received a card from Juanita Epperson. She invited me to come to one of their meetings at the "Hall" on 1st and Union. I went and like the ladies so much and had such an enjoyable time I decided to join. That was in "1962."
