PORK AND APPLE STEW
6 pork chops
4 sour apples
1 1/2 tbsp. brown sugar
3 onions
Salt and pepper
1 tbsp. water

Trim the chops of excess fat and cut the fat in thin strips. Peel, core and slice the apples. Slice onions thinly. In a wide casserole, put a layer of onions, layer of apples, half the sugar, chops, salt, pepper and the water.

Now cover the chops with a layer of onions and apples. Toss the strips of pork fat in half of brown sugar. Lay them criss cross on top of apples - sugar over all.

Season with salt and pepper. Cover casserole and cook in 350 degree oven for 1 hour. Reduce heat and cook another hour.
