BEEF TAMALE HOTDISH 
1 lb. ground beef
1 tbsp. shortening
1 lg. onion
1 clove garlic
1 med. can tamales
1 med. can creamed corn
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms
2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
Cayenne pepper to taste
1/2 c. pitted ripe olives
1/4 c. grated Cheddar cheese

Brown ground beef, shortening, onion and garlic until crumbly. Drain off fat. Cut tamales into 1 inch pieces. Add tamale pieces, corn, tomato sauce, mushrooms, salt and pepper to beef mixture. Season with cayenne pepper to taste. Bake in 2 1/2 quart casserole at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Top with olives and cheese; return to oven for 10 minutes.
