ORANGE ALMOND BREAD 
2 c. all - purpose flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter or other shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
3 tbsp. orange rind
2 tbsp. orange juice
3/4 c. milk
1/2 c. chopped almonds
1/2 c. cut raisins

Sift flour, then measure and sift 3 times with salt and baking powder. Cream butter. Add sugar gradually and mix until smooth. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Add orange rind and orange juice. Add flour mixture alternately with milk and juice, ending with flour. Add chopped nuts and raisins. Sprinkle with a little flour. Bake in loaf pan at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
