BATTERED DIPPED HOT DOGS 
1 c. self-rising white cornmeal mix
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/2 c. milk
1 egg, beaten
2 tbsp. vegetable oil
8-10 frankfurters

Combine cornmeal mix and pepper. Add milk, eggs, and oil; mix well.

Insert wooden skewers in one end of each frank. Coat with additional flour, then dip into cornmeal batter. Fry a few at a time in hot fat.
