2 boxes cake mix (white, yellow or spice)
1 1/3 c. shortening
4 eggs
1 1/2 c. oatmeal
1 pkg. gumdrops (sm. pkg.)

Beat 1 package cake mix with 4 eggs and shortening until light and fluffy. Blend in remaining mix with wooden spoon. Add oatmeal and gumdrops. Place 1 inch balls on ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten with knife dipped in milk. Bake in 375 degree oven 10-12 minutes. Makes 8 dozen.
