CHOCOLATE DIPPED STRAWBERRIES 
Whole fresh strawberries
Semi sweet chocolate
Shortening

Wash the berries in cool water and dry thoroughly, (no water should mix with the chocolate). In a double boiler, melt chocolate with a small amount of shortening (do not use oil or butter). Stir until chocolate is smooth and fluid. Dip bottom of strawberry into the chocolate coating 3/4 of way up. Drain off excess chocolate and place to berry on a tray lined with wax paper. Refrigerate 30 minutes to set chocolate. Strawberries will not keep overnight.
