HAMBURGER STEAK IN MUSHROOM
GRAVY
 
1 1/2 or 2 lbs. ground beef
1 egg
1/4 c. bread crumbs
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 pkg. onion soup mix
2 tbsp. Wesson oil
2 tbsp. flour
2 c. liquid from mushrooms & water
1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms

Mix meat with egg, crumbs and seasonings and half of onion soup mix. Shape in patties. Fry in oil, remove to bowl. Add flour to pan; stir to brown, blend in liquid to make gravy, adding remaining onion soup and 1 tablespoon of cooking sherry, if desired. Cook 5 minutes. Serve with rice or on buns. Serves 4 to 6.
