1 c. shortening
2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
6 eggs
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Combine sugar, shortening and vanilla; mix well. Add eggs, salt and flour; mix slowly until well blended. Bake in tube pan. Wet pan, pour out water, grease and flour. Bake at 325 degrees for 15 minutes. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Do not open oven door until baking time is complete. Your cake will fall for sure if you do.
