CHERRY PIE BARS 
1 1/2 c. flour
1 c. lard or Crisco, room temperature
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 egg yolk in measuring cup (fill with water to measure 1/2 c.)
1 lg. can cherry pie filling

(Mix like pie crust.) Place flour in mixing bowl. Cut in lard (or Crisco) and add egg yolk-water mixture. Toss with fork to make pie crust mixture. Divide in half. Roll out on floured surface. Place 1 sheet of crust on cookie sheet. Spread pie filling across crust. Roll out second half of crust and cover pie filling. Bake 15-20 minutes at 350 degrees. Frost when fully cool. Can use any kind of canned pie filling. Hint: Best when eaten first day.

FROSTING:

2 c. powdered sugar
2 tbsp. Crisco
1/4 c. milk
1 tsp. almond flavoring

Mix all ingredients for frosting until smooth.
