BAVARIAN APPLE TORTE 
5 peeled & sliced apples
1/4 c. slivered almonds
1/3 c. sugar
Dash of cinnamon
1/2 c. butter
1/4 tsp. vanilla
1 c. flour
8 oz. cream cheese
1/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 egg

Mix first 4 ingredients, toss to coat apples. Set aside. To make crust, cream butter until light and fluffy, blend in vanilla, then flour. Roll dough into a ball. Roll out in springform pan, and 1 1/2 inches up the sides.

Cream together cream cheese and sugar until light and fluffy. Then add vanilla and egg. Spread unto crust. Lay apple mixture on top. Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes, reduce heat to 400 degrees and continue baking for 25 minutes. Cool before eating. May be dusted with powdered sugar after it has cooled.
