3 c. flour
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
3 egg yolks
1 c. butter
Grated rind of 1 lemon
1 #303 can applesauce (about 1 3/4 c.)
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cloves

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease pan (9 x 9 x 1 3/4 inches). Mix flour, sugar, salt, egg yolks, butter and lemon rind. Divide mix in 2 parts; press 1 part into bottom of greased pan.

Mix applesauce, cinnamon, cloves and spread on top of dough in pan. Sprinkle rest of dough over applesauce. Bake 40-45 minutes. Top with whipped cream or lemon sauce.
