BAKED CABBAGE 
1 head cabbage (about 2 1/2 lbs.)
2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. flour
2 tbsp. sugar
Pinch of pepper
3 tbsp. butter
1 c. hot milk
1 c. grated cheddar cheese

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter a 12x8-inch shallow baking dish. Wash cabbage (discard outer leaves). Cut into wedges (10-12). Cook cabbage in boiling water (add 1 teaspoon salt), covered 10 minutes. Drain well. Arrange cabbage in baking dish. Sprinkle with mixture of flour, sugar, 1 teaspoon salt and pepper. Dot with butter. Pour hot milk over cabbage; sprinkle with cheese. Bake uncovered 35 minutes.
