BEEF STEW 
1 oz. oil
1 lb. beef, cut up
1 lg. onion
1 sm. can carrots or peas, drained
2 tbsp. flour

In large saucepan add oil, beef, and onion. Cover and cook on low flame. After 5 minutes, add water to cover meat. Cover until meat is tender. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons flour. Shut flame off; add carrots or peas. Salt and pepper to taste.
