BEEF STROGANOFF 
2 lb. meat (stew, round or family steak)
1/4 c. flour
1/2 c. chopped onions
6 tbsp. butter
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1/2 c. wine
1/2 c. water
1/2-3/4 c. sour cream
1 can cream of mushroom soup

Cut meat into bite-size pieces. Dip meat in flour and brown with onions and butter. Add seasonings, wine and water if needed. Simmer until tender (45 minutes), stir occasionally. Add mushroom soup and cook about 30 minutes. To serve: Heat until hot, turn off heat and add sour cream. Serve over egg noodles or rice.
