ALMOND COOKIES | |
1/2 c. butter 1/2 c. Crisco 1 c. very fine sugar 1 egg 2 c. flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. cream of tartar 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 c. ground almond nuts 120 almond halves 1/4 tsp. almond extract Cream butter, Crisco and sugar. Add egg. Mix flour, baking soda, cream of tartar and salt. Add to sugar mixture. Add ground almond nuts and extract. Chill dough for several hours. Take very small amount of chilled dough and roll it to resemble a marble. Place on greased baking sheet. When sheet is filled with the cookies to be, place an almond half on each. Bake at 325 degrees for about 15 minutes. Yield: about 10 dozen. |
