NINE DAY CABBAGE SLAW 
1 lg. head cabbage
2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. salad oil
1 tsp. celery seed
1 tsp. mustard seed
1/2 c. sugar
1 c. vinegar
1 lg. green pepper
1 lg. onion

Grate cabbage fine. Cut pepper and onion fine.

In a large plastic bowl, with lid, place a layer of cabbage, then a layer of onions and pepper. Repeat until all is used.

Heat vinegar, sugar, mustard seed, celery seed, oil and salt to boiling point. Pour over cabbage a little at a time (best to spoon over). Let stand as much as 4 hours or overnight. Do not stir. Very good.
