CHOCOLATE CHIP SKILLET CAKE | |
1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour 1 c. firmly packed brown sugar 1/2 c. cocoa 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 3/4 c. milk 2/3 c. shortening 3 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. (6 oz. pkg.) semi-sweet chocolate pieces 1/2 c. diced toasted almonds Grease bottom of 10 inch electric skillet. Combine all ingredients except chocolate pieces and almonds, in a large mixer bowl. Blend 30 seconds at lowest speed of mixer. Beat 4 minutes at medium speed. Pour batter into cold skillet. Sprinkle with chocolate pieces and almonds. Cover; open vents. Bake at 275 degrees for 60 to 70 minutes until cake tests done in center. Unplug skillet; remove lid and let cake cool. |
