SWEET & SOUR BARBECUED RIBS | |
3 lbs. ribs 1 lemon, cut in thin slices 1/2 to 1 c. onions, chopped Place ribs on rack in shallow pan (cut into serving size pieces). Do not cover or add water. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Place slice of lemon on each piece and sprinkle onion on top. Roast for 45 minutes in 450 degree oven to brown. Remove and pour sauce over ribs (recipe follow). Reduce heat to 350 degrees and continue to roast for 1 1/2 hours. Baste every 15 minutes. SAUCE: Mix together: 1/2 tsp. salt Dash of pepper 1/2 tsp. celery seed 2 tbsp. brown sugar 2 tbsp. vinegar 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce 1/2 c. catsup 1 c. water Bring to a boil and pour over ribs. |
