APPLE CRISP 
4 c. sliced apples
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1/3 c. flour
1 c. uncooked oatmeal, quick
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/3 c. melted butter

Place apples in baking dish. Sprinkle with lemon juice. Combine dry ingredients; add melted butter, mixing until crumbly. Sprinkle crumb mixture over apples. Bake in medium oven (375 degrees) for 30 minutes or until apples are tender. Serve warm with hard sauce.

Hard Sauce: Cream until soft 1/2 cup butter. Gradually blend in 1 cup confectioners' sugar. Then beat in 1 unbeaten egg white. Stir in 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Put in serving dish. Sprinkle with nutmeg. Chill in refrigerator at least 1 hour.
