CANDIED APPLES 
4 Winesap apples (or any apples will do) ]
1 c. sugar (to double, use 1/2 c. more sugar)
1 c. water
1 pkg. cinnamon bits (or 2 boxes Red Hots)

Put water, sugar and Red Hots to boil. Simmer, until melted. Stir occasionally. Core and quarter apples and put in baking dish. Pour red hot mixture over apples, cover and bake until tender and done, medium heat, 350 degrees. If water boils out, add more if needed.
