APPLE BUTTER 
5 lb. tart apples
1/2 c. sweet apple cider
Sugar
1/2 c. red hot candy
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 qts. cider boiled down to 1/2

Seal in sterile jars.

Cut apples into quarters and remove core. Boil cider and apples until fruit is tender. Press through a ricer or sieve to remove skins.

Add as much sugar as pulp. Add boiled down cider to the fruit. Add red hots (cinnamon candies) and 1 teaspoon cinnamon (more cinnamon can be added if desired). Stir well. Bake in slow oven until thick. Stir occasionally while baking.
