CHARLESTON RED RICE 
8 bacon slices
1 c. onion, chopped fine
1/4 c. green pepper, chopped
1 can tomatoes
1 1/2 c. water
3/4 c. uncooked rice
1/2 c. chili sauce
1 tsp. salt
Dash of pepper
1 tbsp. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce

Cook bacon until crisp; remove. Pour off half the fat, cook onion and green pepper until done, but not brown. Add remaining ingredients. Cover and simmer 40 minutes. Crumble bacon on top. Cooks up well in electric skillet. Serves 6 to 8.
