1 can chick peas (19 oz.) 3 oz. tomato paste 1 med. sized onion 1/2 tsp. salt to taste 1 tsp. red chili powder, optional 1/2 tsp. turmeric powder 1 tbsp. marsala or a tsp. ground clove & 1 tsp. ground cinnamon 2 tbsp. oil Cut onion into small fine pieces. Warm oil and saute onion on medium heat until light brown (3-5 minutes). Add tomato paste to above, stir in and let it cook for 5 minutes at medium heat. Add salt, red chili powder, turmeric and garam masala. Drain water from chick peas and then add to above. Let cook for 30 minutes medium heat, stirring in between. Eat with toast or plain or Pilav Rice. |
