BAKED SWORDFISH
2 lbs. fresh swordfish steaks
1 stick butter
Juice of 1 lemon
1 onion, thinly sliced
1/4 c. white wine Worcestershire sauce
1 clove garlic, pressed
1/4 c. mayonnaise

This recipe works well with salmon or other fish steaks. Place fish in lightly greased baking dish. In small saucepan, melt butter then add lemon juice, Worcestershire and garlic and saute a few minutes until garlic is golden. Remove from heat and blend in mayonnaise until smooth. Spoon over fish, cover and bake at 350°F for 30 minutes until fish flakes easily. If you prefer your fish a bit on the dry side, do not cover.

The first ingredient in Lea & Perrins is white vinegar. Close enough, I figure.

In response to an earlier comment, the recipe lists onion as ingredient, then drops further mention! I sauteed it in butter as first step, later used Worcestershire sauce itself (not having the wine version), tossed in a handful of capers, used 1/2 cream cheese and 1/2 mayo to finish as directed and half an hour later had the most delish baked swordfish ever! (Worcestershire sauce and mayo --who knew?)

Thought I would try this, Loved it couldn't get enough of the sauce even used bread to sop it up. Didn't know what to do with the onions so I threw it in with the garlic. Will be making this again.

Seasoning was OK but not exceptional. My swordfish did not absorb flavors of marinade.

This was awesome. I treated the white wine and Worcestershire sauce as two separate ingredients and added the onions on top. I finished it with a minute of broiling.

This recipe was delicious! I also added the onions when I added the garlic which worked out perfectly. The sauce/broth was absolutely delicious and went great with the Swordfish. It was also great to dip a baguette in or garlic bread. There seemed to be a lot of broth, so towards the end of baking I took some of the broth out and let it continue to bake with less broth and no foil on top. This allowed the fish to dry a little bit which made it perfect. Loved this recipe will definitely make again in the future, might add tomatoes next time as well.

Great taste, used scallions instead of regular onions and used regular Worcestershire sauce and only a half stick of butter swordfish was fresh which helped greatly with the wonderful taste will make it again

Good solid recipe! Added white wine to Worcestershire sauce, skipped onions for same reasons as others. Will put onions in next time, maybe scallions. A definite repeater! Thank you!
