ROUND STEAK SAUERBRATEN 
1 1/2 lb. round steak
1 tbsp. cooking oil
1 envelope brown gravy mix
2 c. water
2 tbsp. vinegar
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp. dry mixed onion
3 tbsp. brown sugar (or to taste)
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. ground ginger
1 bay leaf

Cut meat into 1 inch squares in a large skillet. Brown all sides in hot fat. Remove from pan. Add gravy mix and water. Bring to a boil stirring constantly. Stir in remaining ingredients. Return meat to skillet and cover. Simmer for 1 1/2 hours stirring occasionally. Remove bay leaf. Serve over hot buttered noodles.
