PLANTATION ROLLS | |
1 pkg. yeast 2 c. lukewarm water 1/3 c. sugar 2 tsp. salt 1 c. shortening, melted 2 eggs 6 c. flour, sifted Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water; add sugar and salt. Beat in 2 cups flour with mixer. Add unbeaten eggs; beat with more flour. Then add cooled shortening and beat in remainder of flour. Brush top of dough with melted shortening. Cover and let rise once. Stir down and refrigerate for several hours or overnight. Make into desired shapes, brush with melted butter and let rise until double in size. Bake at 425 degrees until golden brown. (May have to use a little more flour.) |
