2 c. sifted self-rising flour 1/3 c. shortening 3/4 c. buttermilk Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Cut shortening in the flour until like coarse crumbs. Make a well; add buttermilk. Stir flour crumbs and milk. Knead until smooth. Roll dough until 1/2 inch thick. Dip cutter in flour; cut dough. Place in greased pan. Bake at 450 degrees about 12 minutes or until brown. |
