BEEF POT ROAST | |
3 to 4 lbs. blade or pot roast 2 tbsp. lard or drippings 1 c. sliced onions 1 to 2 c. seedless raisins 2 tsp. salt 1 to 2 tsp. pepper 2 bay leaves 1 to 2 c. water Brown the meat on both sides. Put in heavy skillet. Pour off fat. Add remaining ingredients. Cover and simmer for 3 to 4 hours or until tender. Add more water, if necessary. Place meat on serving platter. Remove excess fat from pan. Serves 6. |
