VERNA'S BEST FUDGE | |
1 package chocolate chips, (may substitute peanut butter, butterscotch, cherry chips) 12 ounce bag 8 0unce or 1/2 large bag mini marshmallows Mix chips and marshmallows together in bowl In a large pot or dutch oven mix together: 4 cups sugar 1 can evaporated milk 1 cube butter Cook over medium heat. Once mixture reaches a rolling boil, (one that can not be stirred down) continue to boil for 12 minutes, STIRRING CONSTANTLY. Remove from heat and pour over chip mixture. Stir with spoon to mix well. Pour into buttered cookie sheet or cake pan. Fudge is done when cool and set. My mom taught me this recipe over 40 years ago and I have been making it ever since. If it is grainy, then you cooked the syrup too long. Not stiff enough, then you didn't cook it the full time. Submitted by: Mari Bailey |
