SOUR CREAM FUDGE - WHITE OR DARK 
2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. sour cream
1/3 c. syrup
2 tbsp. butter
2 tsp. vanilla or 1 tsp. rum extract
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. nutmeats

Cook first 5 ingredients to soft ball stage. Remove from heat. If using a real heavy pan, put in cool water to stop cooking. Let cool about 1/2 hour, beat until shine is gone or it begins to set. Add nuts, drop from spoon or put in buttered pan. Let set for about 1 hour then cut to size. If you want dark fudge, add 1/4 cup cocoa to sugar.
