APPLE DUMPLINGS 
2 c. plain flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. milk
2/3 c. Crisco

SAUCE:

1 c. sugar
1 c. water
2 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 tbsp. red food color

Mix all ingredients for dough. Roll out into 4 inch squares. Put 4 slices of apple on each square. Add 1 teaspoon sugar, 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg and 3/4 teaspoon butter. Fold corners to center. Place in pan.

Mix ingredients for sauce and bring to a boil. Pour over dumplings and bake at 400 degrees until golden brown.
