CINNAMON APPLE DUMPLINGS 
2 1/4 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. rolled oats
1 c. shortening
8 - 9 tbsp. cold water
2 tbsp. raisins
2 tbsp. brown sugar
2 tbsp. butter, melted
6 apples, peeled and cored

Sift flour and salt. Add oats. Cut in shortening. Stir in water gradually. Divide dough into 6 parts. Roll each to form an 8 inch square. Place an apple in center of each square. Combine raisins, sugar and butter. Fill apple centers with raisin mixture. Bring pastry up over apples, joining corners at center top. Pinch edges together. Prick pastry with fork. Bake in shallow pan at 425 degrees for 20 minutes or until apples test done. Serve hot with sauce.

SAUCE:

1/2 c. sugar
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1/4 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. red cinnamon candies
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. hot water

Combine above ingredients. Add few drops of red food coloring. Bring to boil, stirring constantly. Cook and stir until candies are melted and sauce is thickened. Serve over dumplings.
