OLD TIME APPLE DUMPLINGS 
2 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
2/3 c. milk
6 baking apples
1/3 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1 tbsp. butter

Sift together flour, baking powder and salt; cut in shortening. Stir in milk, mix until soft dough is formed. Turn out. Roll 1/8 inch, cut into 6 squares. Core apples, peel, place 1 apple on each square.

Combine sugar and cinnamon, sprinkle into each apple. Add 1/2 teaspoon butter to each wrap. Place on greased baking pan. Pour sauce over apples before baking. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

SAUCE:

1 c. water
1 c. sugar
1 tbsp. butter

Bring to boil and pour over apples before baking.
