6 lg. Granny Smith apples Water Sugar Cinnamon Pillsbury pie crust 1 egg yolk Cut apples into quarters, peel, core and slice 1/4 inch thick. Put in 10 inch skillet with a little water and cook apples until almost cooked, not soft, with a lid on. Add sugar and cinnamon to taste to apples. Put crust in pie pan and bake at 400 degrees for 5 minutes. Take out of oven and put apples in pie pan. Cover with unbaked top crust and flute edges. Beat egg yolk and paint top of crust. Bake at 400 degrees until brown. |
