1 box chocolate cake mix
1 c. cherry pie filing
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs
1/2 c. oil

Combine cake mix, eggs and oil. Mix well then STIR cherry pie filling in by hand. Bake in 9 x 13 inch pan at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes or until done.

ICING:

While cake is baking mix in saucepan:

1 c. sugar
5 tbsp. butter
1/3 c. milk

Bring to boil and let boil 1 minute, stir in 6 ounce package of chocolate chips and add chopped nuts if desired.
