RED VELVET CAKE 
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. Crisco
2 eggs
2 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. vinegar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cocoa
1 c. sour milk
2 oz. red coloring

Cream Crisco and sugar, add whole eggs, one at a time and beat well. Sift flour, salt and cocoa together, 3 times, add alternately with sour milk, then vanilla and coloring, fold in soda dissolved in vinegar, being sure not to beat at this time. Bake in two 9 inch cake pans for 30 minute at 350 degrees.

ICING:

1 c. sweet milk
1/4 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 tsp. vanilla

Mix well flour, salt, and milk in saucepan and cook until very thick slowly, let cool thoroughly. Cream sugar and butter until fluffy then beat into the cooled mixture and beat well with vanilla added. Garnish with 1 can angel flake coconut.
