Wash and trim 4 artichokes (cut tops flat, trim leaves with scissors). Spread slightly. Set in pan with 2" water. Salt and garlic the water. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and garlic. Add 1 tablespoon bread crumbs to each choke and 1 teaspoon grated cheese. Steam for 45 to 50 minutes or until one leaf pulls out easily steamed covered (low boil). |
