CORN BREAD 
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening (I use canola oil)
2 eggs ( use 1 egg + 2 egg whites)
1 c. cornmeal
1 c. flour
1 c. sweet milk (I use skim milk)
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt

Cream shortening and sugar together. Beat in eggs and add with rest of ingredients. Bake in 8"x8" square pan in 350 degree oven for 1/2 hour or until golden brown.
