CABBAGE SOUP 
4 c. cabbage, coarsely shredded
1 c. celery cut in about 1/2 inch pieces
1 c. carrots cut a bit larger
1 c. chopped onion

Cover with water, bring to boil; cook about a minute.

Then add:

2 c. potatoes, cut in small pieces (a little larger than carrot pieces)
1/2 - 3/4 tsp. salt

Cook until tender.

Then combine with:

3 hot dogs cut in 3/4 in pieces
2 c. white sauce

WHITE SAUCE:

Melt 1/4 cup butter in frying pan. Remove from heat briefly to stir in: 3 tablespoons flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt (may add pepper). Return to medium heat, cook until mixture bubbles. Gradually add, stirring 2 cups milk. Cook about one minute. Add hot dogs and mix with vegetables.
