AUNT RUTH'S COOKIES (Pugachels) | |
1/2 lb. butter 2 eggs 3 c. flour 1/2 tsp. baking soda 3/4 c. sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 tsp. salt 1. Cream butter in bowl and add sugar and mix well. Add eggs and mix. Add flavoring. 2. In another bowl, sift flour, salt and baking soda together. Add this slowly to liquid mixture and knead well. 3. Roll out and cut out cookies with forms. 4. Bake at 350 degrees until light brown. 5. Makes about 60 cookies. (This recipe was brought from Hungary through my greatgrandmother Toni. Aunt Ruth was not allowed to come to family gatherings without her cookies.) |
