MARY'S SPECIAL BARS | |
1 box German chocolate cake mix (Swiss chocolate) 3/4 c. butter, melted 1 c. chopped nuts (or sunflower seeds) 14 oz. light craft caramels 1 c. semi sweet chocolate chips (6 oz.) 1 sm. can evaporated milk (5 1/3 oz.) Combine caramels and 1/3 cup milk in a sauce pan. Combine cake mix, butter, nuts, and rest of milk. Stir until dough holds together. Pat 1/2 of dough in 13 x 9 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 6 minutes. Melt caramels on low heat, stirring constantly while dough cooks. Sprinkle chocolate chips and pour caramels over cooked dough. Dot remaining dough on top. Bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Let cool completely before cutting. Add anything that sounds good (coconut) before pouring caramel mixture. |
