BROWNIE SPONGE PUDDING 
1 egg, well beaten
1/2 c. molasses
3/4 c. flour
Little salt
1/2 c. raisins, chopped
1 tsp. cassia
1/4 tsp. cloves
1 scant tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. hot water

Add molasses to well beaten egg. Add flour, salt, raisins, cassia, cloves, soda, and hot water. Steam about 1 hour. Serve plain or with whipped cream.
