CORN - MEAL BREAD 
1/3 c. corn meal
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening (oleo)
2 c. milk
2 beaten eggs
1 yeast
1/4 c. lukewarm water
6-7 c. flour

Scald milk. Mix sugar, corn meal, and salt; add to milk along with butter. Cook until thickened (not too thick). Cool to lukewarm. Beat eggs and add yeast (which is dissolved in water) and milk mixture; mix. Add flour; knead.

Let rise 2 hours. Punch down. Shape into loaves. Grease tops; let rise until double in bulk (2 hours). Bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes.
