1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. vanilla

GLAZE:

3/4 c. confectioners' sugar
Water
Food coloring for holiday

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy (15 minutes). Blend in egg. Sift together salt, baking powder, and flour. Add dry ingredients to butter mixture. Blend in vanilla. Chill dough.

Roll out and cut with favorite cookie cutters. Bake on lightly greased cookie sheet for 8 minutes. Glaze with confectioners' sugar while still warm.
