BROWN GRAVY BASE 
2 tbsp. butter
1 c. canned beef broth or 1 bouillon cube dissolved in 1 c. water (boiling)
2 tbsp. flour
Dash of salt and pepper

VARIATIONS:

Add mushrooms for mushroom gravy. Add onions (cooked until tender) for onion gravy. Add 1 cup leftover roast beef and 1 cup leftover potatoes with chopped onion and green pepper for hash.

Cook in skillet, use as base for beef stew, beef stroganoff (serve on noodles) or add to roast beef when baking.

Thanks for this recipe. The others all called for a jar of gravy! If I wanted gravy from a jar I would have bought one! Yours also has the added ideas such as onions, mushrooms, etc. Again, my thanks.
