CALIFORNIA VEGETABLE DISH 
Line a 9 x 9-inch dish with Minute rice, uncooked, (1 1/2 to 2 cups).

Layer on top of rice: blend mixed vegetables 1 can sliced water chestnuts

Saute: 2 tbsp. butter

Add: 3/4 can milk (adjust milk to amount of rice) 1/2 jar Cheez Whiz (or about 1/2 lb. Velveeta cheese)

Heat slowly until blended. Pour over vegetables and rice. Bake at 325 degrees for 30 minutes. Don't overbake!

(May use more or less rice, as desired.)
